Welcome to the e-folio of Joshua Curtis - freelance web developer and general web ninja. With over two years commercial experience developing web applications for large B2B and SME clients as well as small new starter companies, I have developed a broad knowledge of web platforms and third party tools that can help your business reach its full potential.

Having worked with some of the UK's top digital agencies, I have had the privilege to work alongside some of the industry's main thought leaders and business entrepreneurs. This valuable experience has provided me with an in depth understanding of all aspects of digital research and development, with particular emphasis on Search Engine Optimisation, and the utilisation of social media with regards to product promotion.

As the internet develops and evolves it is my firm belief that web developers and designers have a responsibility to grow with it. If we allow ourselves to become complacent and stagnant we will never reach our full potential.

Work

I have experience working freelance and within small to medium agencies. I work well on individual and collaborative projects, and am used to deadline driven assignments.

I have an excellent web development ethic and believe that web standards are important for both accessibility and usability. For these reasons I always strive to keep my code up to date with current web standards, and I always aim for W3C compliant XHTML and CSS.

Skills

Whilst working for search marketing agencies I developed a general knowledge of search friendly code. I understand in depth the core fundamentals of SEO and how to optimise web sites in order to improve search visibility.

As a web developer I utilise third party tools and software currently available on the web. It is my opinion that commercially this can help to cut development time and costs substantially.
